CONCEPT
*** WARNING: OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE IS PRESENT. USED BY THE MUSICIAN, NOT ME. ***
Under many titles ranging from Zev Love X, Viktor Vaughn, King Geedorah, and most notably MF DOOM, Daniel Dumille put himself at the forefront of the hip-hop industry over a three decade long career. Under these aliases, Dumille released six studio albums while collaborating with underground rap legends such as Madlib, Ghostface Killah, Czarface, and many others. Often referenced as "your favorite rapper's favorite rapper," DOOM's impact and influence has been solidified in the history of the genre.
Sadly, Dumille passed away on October 31st, 2020 to unreleased causes. In honor of the life, legacy, and legendary music of the man behind the mask, I designed a vinyl box collection entitled The Infinite Tones. Found within the collection are his six studio albums; Operation: Doomsday, Take Me To Your Leader, Vaudeville Villain, VV:2 (Venomous Villain), MM..Food, and Born Like This.
In commemoration of his use of the Dr. Doom persona and infatuation with chopping original Fantastic Four cartoons for his beats, the theme of the the collection is centered around the Infinity Gauntlet from the Marvel universe. When paired with the six Infinity Stones, the Infinity Gauntlet becomes one of the most powerful objects imaginable. Playing off of these concepts, I imagined DOOM's mask as the gauntlet with each of the albums representing one of the six stones. With the power of his music and mysticism of his mask, MF DOOM is one of the most triumphant and respected musicians of this millenium.
Dedicated to the family, friends, and fans of Metal Faced DOOM.
